I am a research associate within Bristol Cyber Security Group. My work here is focused on cybercriminal behavior within and across online communities utilizing both computationally-intensive and qualitative approaches. I am fascinated by online behavior and identity over time and across contexts [which is what my PhD focused on]. I have used a variety of general statistical techniques, computational approaches to behavioral data/digital traces (e.g., machine learning, 'big' data analytics), and qualitative methods (e.g., thematic analysis, repertory grids). Additionally, I am associated with the Centre for Research and Evidence on Security Threats (CREST).

Additionally, I have interests in technology and society, where I have researched objective smartphone measurement (digital traces) with the PsychSensor Lab [Lancaster University]. This work has two key strands: improving behavioral measurement (psychometrics) and understanding the impact of technology on society.

Previously, I completed my PhD at the University of Bath and my MA the University of Edinburgh. During this time,  I also spent time working in both the private and public sector (two stints in banking (risk + digital risk) alongside a placement in the Cabinet Office during my PhD).
