Research summary

I am interested in the development of analytical and numerical tools to analyse dynamics in power systems with power electronics controlled components, to understand the influence of parameters and operating condition on system’s stability and to devise control strategies and procedures for the optimisation of topology, sizing, weight and cost of power system components while guaranteeing adequate stability margins and power quality levels.

Biography

Before joining the Electrical Energy Management Group I spent 2.5 years as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Sheffield where I was involved in the European project MOET (More Open Electrical Technologies) led by Airbus, investigating stability and power quality of future “more electric” aircraft power systems.

I received the MSc degree in Electronic Engineering and a PhD in Electrical Engineering both from the University of Naples, “Federico II”, Naples, Italy.
