Biography

Terra Sprague is a member of the Research Centre for International and Comparative Studies (ICS) and the Education in Small States research group at the Graduate School of Education. She came to the University of Bristol in 2007 where she completed her MEd in Educational Leadership, Policy and Development.  Her PhD  examines the environmental resilience from the perspective of small island developing states (SIDS). Terra's work in the Graduate School of Education is in the areas of education development, policy in small states and educational assessment. 

Terra is the Conference Convenor for the UKFIET International Conference on Education and Development and Managing Editor of the UKFIET Community of Practice.  She also serves as Webmaster for the British Association for Comparative and International Education (BAICE).

From New York, Terra holds a BA (hons) in English Language Arts from Niagara University and began her professional career as a teacher.   She then worked as an EFL teacher trainer and educational consultant in the Republic of Armenia for three years with the United States Peace Corps.  She is a founding member of Focus on Children Now, a non profit organization based in Los Angeles, California working to break the poverty cycle of families and children in impoverished conditions in Armenia.
