Research summary

Professor Sibel Erduran is the Deputy Director of Research, Director of MSc Science & Education Programme and Coordinator of the Science Education Research Network. Her research interests broadly concern the inclusion of perspectives on the nature of science and scientific inquiry in science teaching and learning. In her work, she draws from interdisciplinary perspectives on science, particularly from philosophy of science and cognitive studies and combines theoretical work in this area with classroom-based research in secondary schools. Biography

Professor Sibel Erduran is the Editor of International Journal of Science Education, co-editor of Science Education, and serves on the editorial board of Review of Educational Research among other journals. She is the NARST International Coordinator and Chair of the International Committee. She has authored close to 130 publications and made over 110 international/national presentations including plenary speeches at conferences in Taiwan, South Africa, Korea, Turkey and Lebanon.
