Biography

Malcolm Reed is a senior lecturer in education. He trained at London University's Institute of Education to teach English in inner-city contexts, and taught in the Inner London Education Authority throughout the 1980s, becoming head of English.  In 1990 he moved to Bristol University to lead PGCE English, which is recognised as an outstanding programme of teacher education.

Malcolm's research interests have grown out of the radical situation in which he taught.  He has a long-standing interest in children's writing in secondary schools and support for pedagogic development in schools facing challenging circumstances.  Previous ...
