David studied Sociology at the University of York and then Research Methods at Goldsmiths College before completing a PhD at Cardiff University in 2007. Following this he was an ESRC postdoctoral fellow in the Cardiff School of Social Sciences, lectured Sociology and Research Methods at the University of Wales and was a research fellow at the University of Leeds.
