Research summary

Liz's interests include the relationships between family background, policy and early childhood outcomes and methodological issues in the analysis of longitudinal data. She is a Visiting Scholar at the Russell Sage Foundation for 2013-14, working on a cross-national comparative project on socioeconomic background and educational trajectories.

Washbrook received a B.A. in Economics from Clare College, Univeristy of Cambridge in 1998, a M.Sc. in Economics from the University of Bristol in 2001, and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Bristol in 2007.

Liz has recently been involved in working on a projected funded by a grant from the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, which looks at the role of beliefs, behaviours and attitudes in educational attainment.
