Research summary

Primary research interest is understanding sources of conflict in workplace relationships.

Secondary research interest is the mimetic theory and scapegoating theory of René Girard and how these areas can be adapted to understanding workplace relationships.

Third major research area is developing a deeper understanding of the core skills required for undertaking a grounded theory study; ability to work at deep level of concentration and developing abstract wonderment.

Biography

Damian Stoupe is a counsellor, trainer and consultant specialising in issues surrounding workplace conflict, particularly bullyingy.  Whilst bullying forms the background to his research interests his work is influenced through the use of mimetic theory and Lacanian psychology. 

He has a private counselling practice focussing on conflict and relationships and is a Executive Member of BACP Workplace. 

In a previous working life he gained extensive experience as a manager and leader in the defence industry focussing on startegic procurement and resource management.
