Planetary Atmospheres and Interiors

My research comprises application of geophysical techniques to solve planetary science problems. Currently my research focuses on two areas:

1) Atmospheric radiative transfer of planetary atmospheres: I use infra-red remote sensing combined with radiative transfer analyses to study the atmospheres of Titan, Saturn, Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune, and Mars using both space-based and ground-based instruments such as Cassini, ExoMars Trace Gas Orbiter, the Atacama Large Millimeter/sub-millimeter Array, and Herschel. In particular I use unstable species to provide new insights into large-scale atmospheric dynamics.

2) Planetary seismology. I apply seismic techniques developed for Earth to planetary interiors to aid in-situ geophysical missions to the planets including NASA's InSight mission to Mars. In particular impact induced seismicity and crustal properties using broadband and short period seismometers.
