Dr Maximilian Werner


I joined the School of Earth Sciences and the Cabot Institute of the University of Bristol in October 2013 as Lecturer in Natural Hazards and Risks, with a focus on earthquake seismology and seismic hazards. I obtained my undergraduate education at Imperial College London, where I received an M.Sci. in Physics. After a year of working for the German Agency for International Development in Guatemala, I returned to academia and obtained an M.S. and a Ph.D. in Geophysics from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). After graduating, I joined the Swiss Seismological Service at ETH Zurich as a postdoctoral researcher before returning to the US inas a Harry H. Hess Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Geosciences at Princeton University.
