Summary

My research is focused on meteoric, freshwater, diagenesis in modern carbonate environments by studying the water-rock interactions.  The key aspect I am trying to understand is how the porosity (the holes formed in the rock) and the permeability (how connected these holes are) develop over time.  By using the combined approach of fieldwork characterisation and reactive transport modelling, I can obtain short term observations of the water geochemistry and use these to populate longer term models.

2010-present: Ph.D in Geology, University of Bristol

2008-2010: Research Assistant to Professor Peter Smart, School of Geographical Sciences, University of Bristol

Investigating stacking patterns of synthetic carbonate platforms in order to test whether or not it is possible to determine the Milankovitch cyclicity of the underlying sea level curves.

2007-2008: Remediation Engineer, Celtic Technologies

Worked on a number of phase 1 remediation projects with both groundwater and soil
