Geology (PhD)

Summary

My research interests lie in the field of invertebrate biology and evolution. I am currently looking at how Tardigrades (waterbears) colonised the continent of Antarctica. Are they ancient survivors who have managed to adapt to a freezing world? Or are they recent invaders who have been pre-adapted to the climate?

I have also worked on genetics by environment projects looking at how the natal environment of juvenile insects impacts on their expression of genes into adulthood. Also on the genetics behind the Aedes mosquitoes.
