Research summary

I am a volcanologist and honorary staff member at the University of Bristol. I am based at the GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel, Germany, where my research focuses on volcanic hazards. My aim is to integrate multidisciplinary datasets from volcano monitoring to inform conceptual and mathematical models that (i) shed light on pre-eruptive magmatic processes and thereby support eruption forecasting and (ii) yield quantitative hazard assessments. I am also responsible for public relations work regarding volcanic hazards within the frame of the "Earth System Knowledge Platform".
