Biography

I explore the evolutionary origins of complex organisms through study of fossils from the late Ediacaran Period, some 580 to 541 million years ago. After completing my undergraduate degree in Earth Sciences, and my doctoral degree in Ediacaran palaeobiology (both at the University of Oxford), I moved to the University of Cambridge in 2011 as a Henslow Junior Research Fellow at Girton College. I took up my current NERC Independent Research Fellow position in Bristol in October 2014.
