Summary

Research:

I am part of the Lifecourse Epidemiology and Population Oral Health Group. My primary research interest is identifying the lifecourse determinants of later outcomes, in particular physical acitivity, body composition and cardiovascular health as well as oral health in adolecence.

Teaching:

I run Research Methods courses (based on e-lectures and interactive tutorials) for 2nd year undergraduate students and a variety of postgraduate students. I am also involved in the 4/5th year undergraduate Elective Research Projects.

Biography

I graduated from the University of Sheffied in 1995 with a BSc in Probability and Statistics, and the University of Reading in 1996 with an MSc in Biometry.  I then worked for the Medical Research Council Environmental Epidmiology Unit for almost seven years, also obtaining a PhD in Epidemiology.  I came to Bristol in 2003 to take up the post of Research Fellow for the Avon Longitutinal Study of Parents and Children (ALSPAC).  I was appointed Lecturer in Statistics in the School of Oral and Dental Sciences in 2007, and Senior Lecturer in Statistics in 2011.
