Biography

Mojtaba Dorri is a dentist by background and recently completed his training as a Consultant in Restorative Dentistry (Endodontics, Prosthetics, and periodontology/implant). He is active in teaching, research and clinical practice. His research is informed by his teaching and clinical practice, and vice versa.

He has over 90 publications including Cochrane Reviews, articles in high impact journals, Cochrane Clinical Answers, Joanna Briggs Institute guidance, book chapter and commentary. He has also presented his research and been invited to speak at local, national and international events. He has strong links to researchers and clinicians across the world and leads on several national/international research projects. He has received fundings from the local, national (NIHR/RCF) and private funders. He recently received an MRC CiC (Confidence in Concept) grant to develop a medical device that allows performing aerosol-generating procedures, with no risk of virus transmission. This is followed with another grant from Above and Beyond to assess patients' and clinicians' expectations of and views on this new medical device.

His main research interests include evidence-based medicine, minimally-invasive and aerosol-free dentistry, and use of technology (e.g. virtual reality, augmented reality) in teaching and research.
