Summary

Expertise

I joined the Dementia Research Group in 2005 and have been working on a research programme examining the levels of beta-amlyoid (A?)-degrading enzymes in the Alzheimer?s brain. I am currently developing novel enzymatic assays that will allow the specific measurement of individual A?-degrading enzymes in various tissue compartments, including the CSF. Based on pilot data I collected, the department was awarded a James Tudor Foundation research grant to examine the potential of the A?-degrading enzyme, Neprilysin, as a novel biomarker in Alzheimer?s.
