Research summary

Rahul Bhatnagar is a Clinical Research Fellow currently working towards a PhD in the management of malignant pleural disease.  The core of his thesis is made up of the design and co-ordination of two multi-centre clinical trials: The TAPPS Trial which looks to compare talc poudrage at thoracoscopy with standard bedside talc slurry in the management of malignant pleural effusions and the IPC-PLUS Trial in which patients with an indwelling pleural catheter (IPC) for malignant effusions are treated with an additional installation of talc slurry to try and improve pleurodesis rates.
