Research summary

I am a health services researcher and medical doctor, specialising in kidney disease and transplantation. I split my time between clinical practice as a Consultant in Renal Medicine at Southmead Hospital, and research in the Population Health Sciences department at the University of Bristol. My mixed-methods research focuses on understanding and overcoming barriers to living-donor kidney transplantation, particularly those that affect socioeconomically deprived individuals.

I studied pre-clinical medicine at the University of Cambridge and clinical medicine at the University of Oxford, obtaining my primary medical degree in 2005. Following Foundation Training I started Core Medical Training in the Severn Deanery. In 2009 I obtained the DTM&H (Distinction) from the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene before working as an Honorary Physician and Clinical Lecturer at Mbarara University of Science and Technology and Mbarara Hospital, Uganda.
