  • Advancement in the diagnosis and treatment of mitral valve disease.
  • Improvement of coronary artery bypass grafting. 

Vito Domenico Bruno is a clinical research fellow at the Bristol Medical School (Translational Health Science) who conducts both clinical and translational research in cardiovascular science. He has a long-standing academic interest in translational cardiovascular research, clinical research in adult cardiac surgery, and preclinical development/testing of new cardiovascular drugs and biomedical devices.

His main interests in clinical cardiovascular medicine are focused on the improvement of coronary artery bypass grafting surgery and mitral valve surgery. In this field, he has published several scientific papers in the main scientific journals in cardiothoracic surgery.

His translational research projects are conducted at the Translational Biomedical Research Centre (TBRC) and are dedicated to the development of cardiovascular models in the cardiology and cardiac surgery field (myocardial infarction, heart valve and vascular models).
