Dr Candida Tasman

Candida studied at the University of Bristol where she completed a degree in Pathology and Microbiology.  In 2003 she began a technical post in the Academic Renal Unit in the University where she completed her PhD in Molecular Medicine.  In April 2011 Candida took up the post of research technician in the Dementia Research Group.

Her current work includes the processing and archiving of human brain tissue donations to the South West Dementia Brain Bank (SWDBB) and the Brains for Dementia Research Network (BDRN). This includes providing histological support to assist in donor diagnoses, day-to-day laboratory work and care-taking properties associated with maintaining this important tissue collection. Her work within the group also includes the determination and collation of molecular genetic and biochemical information important to research.
