Research summary


Professor Julian Eastoe is a British chemist: he has held Academic positions continuously for 26 years, firstly at the University of Durham (1992-1993), and since 1993 in the School of Chemistry at the University of Bristol. He was appointed to a Personal Chair at the University of Bristol in 2004. He has a PhD in Chemistry from the University of East Anglia (1990).

His research interests span colloid, surfactant and polymer chemistry and applications of neutron scattering.

Interactions with Chinese Scientists

For 25 years he has been engaging and working closely with Chinese Scientists, starting with the visit of Dr Jingeng Dong to his lab in Bristol in 1995: Jinfeng is now full Professor in Chemistry at the University of Wuhan.

Seven Visiting Scientists (PhDs, Post-docs and Academics) have come to his lab for 1-year visits from China, funded by a variety of travel grants, including Royal Society China fellowship to fund Dr. Aihua Zou.
