I am an immunologist with special interest in the use of novel therapeutic agents in the treatment of autoimmune (arthritis, diabetes, Crohns disease..) and allergic diseases (rhinitis and asthma). In addition, I work in the area of novel vaccine design and development against infectious diseases, in particular herpes simplex virus and meningitis group B. I have a wide ranging expertise in the use of bacterial toxin fragments in intervention in inflammatory diseases and a particular interest in mucosal immunology. I also act in a liaison capacity working closely with the Research and Development group promoting the commercialisation of academic research. I have been founder of a spin-out pharmaceutical company, which I work closely with to develop novel approaches to the treatment of human inflammatory diseases. I am inventor of 6 patents.
