西村周三
1945年生まれ。68年京都大学経済学部卒業、同大学院「医療の経済分析」で経済学博士。現在、国立社会保障・人口問題研究所所長、京都大学大学院名誉教授。米国ハーバード大学研究員、横浜国立大学経済学部助教授を経て、87年より京都大学経済学部教授。研究分野は、医療経済学、社会保障論、行動経済学。システム論の立場から、 医療と費用の関連を研究し、臨床経済学など新分野の経済学構築をはかる。「社会保障費用統計に関する研究会」、「社会保障給付の人的側面と社会保障財源の在り方に関する研究(厚生労働科学研究)」等の研究プロジェクトに参加。
