| Areas of expertise | My main interests lie in asymptotical approximations for wave theories that are valid in the limit of short wave lengths. Examples are semiclassical approximations in quantum mechanics and geometrical optics. I have been working on the connection between quantum chaos and random matrix theory, on bifurcations of periodic orbits, on the semiclassical treatment of diffraction, and on semiclassical theories for wavefunctions. A further field of research covers microlasers. |
