Areas of expertise |
Biogeochemistry of carbon cycling in natural and human-impacted environments, with specific emphasis on the exchange of methane and carbon dioxide between soil and the atmosphere. Current research focuses on trace gas cycling in natural and restored peatlands, mineral soils and river systems. The use of stable isotopes figures prominently in all this research both at the natural abundance level and through the use of labelled tracer compounds.
