I specialize in German, Austrian and Comparative Literature in the 19th and 20th centuries with a particular focus on poetry. Core areas of interest are Modernism and the Avant-garde, Franco-German literary relations, the relationship of literature and music and the history of the book.Authors on whom I have published widely include Hugo von Hofmannsthal, Yvan and Claire Goll, Rainer Maria Rilke, Georg Trakl and Goethe. I also have an interest in English, French and German crime fiction.
