Areas of expertise |
My principal research interest is the flight dynamics and control of aircraft, and in particular non-linear aircraft behaviour. This includes topics such as aircraft stability, control systems design and analysis, experimental (wind tunnel) investigations into stability and control, and novel aircraft (manned and unmanned) configurations.
I also carry out work associated with wind tunnel testing for the purposes of generating data for improved mathematical modelling of aerodynamic forces and moments; this involves dynamic wind tunnel testing, including use of the Pendulum Support Rig developed at Bristol. This rig is also being used to further understand and improve the process of control law design for non-linear air vehicles.
