| Areas of expertise | I am a Senior Research Fellow in the Centre for Health and Social Care. I have maintained a primary interest in the effects of an ageing population on policy development and on the capacity of the health and social systems to respond to these needs. I have conducted research into the roles and responsibilities, interactions and linkages between the market, the state, the voluntary sector and informal sector in meeting the needs of older people. I am also member of the Townsend Centre for International Poverty Research and I am examining the plight of poorer pensioners in the UK, Northern Ireland and Channel Isles. |
