Areas of expertise |
My research interests are in historical sociology and the relationship between sociology and theology (Catholicism), which has been my main area of research since the mid-1980s. Currently, with Peter C. Jupp, I am editing a special issue of New Blackfriars on Charles Taylor’s A Secular Age. I have just completed an essay on my work, in response to questions posed by Keith Tester for a collection I am planning to edit on sociologists and religious belief.
My main project is a book: Utterances in the Wilderness: Sociology at Prayer which I plan to complete in 2011.
