Areas of expertise |
My research interests lie in the field of eighteenth- and early nineteenth-century Spanish literature and intellectual history and I am the author of The Debate on the Nature, Role and Influence of Woman in Eighteenth-Century Spain, (Lewiston, NY: The Edwin Mellen Press, 1995). I am currently working on two main projects. The first is a scholarly edition for Clásicos Castalia (Madrid) of the uncut text of Leandro Moratín's La mogigata, based on a manuscript of the play presented by the author himself to Elizabeth, Lady Holland in 1804. The second is a scholarly edition of Lady Holland’s Spanish Journal (1802-5, 1808-9), based on the original manuscripts located in the British Library.
I have also worked and published in the field of the theory and practice of using information and communication technology (ICT) in University teaching, and created the CALL programme Caminos a la expresividad (Bristol, 1999).
