Areas of expertise |
I have recently completed a book on South African National Cinema in the National Cinema series published by Routledge. I am editing a volume on The Cinema of Southern Africa in the Wallflower Press, 24 Frames series.
My research is primarily concerned with how identities are represented in the cinema. My future research plans focus on a developing collaborative project with Wits University, Johannesburg, South Africa on film archives, memory and history. My short documentary film Uku Hamba ‘Ze – To Walk Naked (1995) has been widely exhibited in international venues. I have plans to build my documentary film/art practice for gallery and artspace installation.
