Areas of expertise |
I am currently researching micro renewables and the technology needed to exploit these sources of energy. This includes projects such as: miniature power sources for self-powered sensors for use in healthcare and in extreme environments; the electrical 'joining up' of many different micro renewable sources (for example building-integrated wind and photovoltaic generators); the management of electrical energy to optimise efficiency and reduce system costs; general power management for complex systems with multiple sources; and the design of efficient power converters.
I have worked on many collaborations with industry and other universities and am keen to continue these and to establish new links.
