Areas of expertise |
I am interested in the ecology and physiology of parasites, especially the reproductive biology and transmission of monogenean helminths. I am also interested in environmental influences on parasite population biology. I carry out research on parasitic disease in fish and on the ecology and evolutionary biology of amphibians, focusing on aquatic Xenopus species in Africa and desert adapted Scaphiopus species in North America. Finally, I am interested in host and parasite co-evolution and I've conducted studies on the parallel speciation of amphibian hosts and their metazoan parasite fauna.
