Areas of expertise |
I work in the fields of Greek literature and culture and the classical tradition. I am particularly interested in Greek tragedy and its reception on stage and screen. I am the author of Achilles in Greek Tragedy (CUP, 2002) and Euripides' Iphigenia at Aulis (Duckworth, 2006). I have also coedited Homer, Tragedy and Beyond: essays in honour of P.E. Easterling (SPHS, 2001) and Agamemnon in Performance, 456 BC - AD 2003 (OUP, 2005). I am currently working on a book on the reception of Greek tragedy in cinema and on articles on the performance history of Greco-Roman drama.
