| Areas of expertise | My principal research area is Italian cinema, focusing in particular on the relations between neo-realist cinema (and Italian film culture more generally) and Hollywood, and on the question of gender and neo-realism. I am currently working on a monograph on the dialogue between Italian cinema and Hollywood. I also have interests in gender and film stardom, particularly in the figure of the cinematic femme fatale, on which I am co-editing a book. I also work on male stars in contemporary Italian cinema. |
