Areas of expertise |
I am a biologist studying the evolution of animal behaviour, using a combination of theory and simple experiments on birds and humans.
My current research centres on four main topics: 1. Decision making: How is behaviour constrained by the evolved mechanisms underlying it? 2. Mate choice: How do animals choose mates in an uncertain environment? 3. Aggression: How do animals resolve conflicts in an uncertain environment? 4. Sex ratios: What is the interplay between sexual selection and sex allocation?
