Areas of expertise |
My research interests cover the areas of occupational health, human aging, functional change and individual differences.
The occupational research concerns the acquired cognitive changes accompanying exposure to neurotoxins (e.g. lead, aluminum, organic solvents, pesticides) while the aging research covers the cognitive changes associated with human ageing.
Other work examines meta-cognitive changes in relation to stress working populations, post-operative recovery of cognitive functions following day-case anesthesia, the faking of neurotoxic deficits, schizotypy and attention, upsetting and intrusive memories in depression, human stress and errors, insomnia, risk perception associated with environmental electromagnetic fields, and the protective role of aspirin in vascular dementia and aging.
