I studied Law & Politics at the University of Wales Cardiff, graduating in 1997. I teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Criminal Law, Criminal Justice, Medical Law and Public Health Law. In 2002 I was awarded my doctorate on 'Error and the Medical Profession: Regulating Trust' by the University of Wales Cardiff. I am co-author (with Nicola Lacey and Celia Wells) of Reconstructing Criminal Law (CUP, 2003). I was a visiting lecturer at the University of Western Australia in 2006. In 2007 I was awarded a grant by the Nuffield Foundation to investigate the use of expert evidence in 'medical manslaughter cases'. I am a member of the editorial board of the Common Law World Review.
