Areas of expertise |
I joined the Dementia Research Group in 2005 and have been working on a research programme examining the levels of beta-amlyoid (Aß)-degrading enzymes in the Alzheimer’s brain. I am currently developing novel enzymatic assays that will allow the specific measurement of individual Aß-degrading enzymes in various tissue compartments, including the CSF. Based on pilot data I collected, the department was awarded a James Tudor Foundation research grant to examine the potential of the Aß-degrading enzyme, Neprilysin, as a novel biomarker in Alzheimer’s.
