Areas of expertise |
My main research interests are focused on racialisation within music, especially in relation to the theoretical and practical aspects of the consumption/production of local/global music cultures within the music industry.
My second main research interest is racism/disadvantage in education, having recently completed an evaluation of a major national educational initiative, Aiming High, focusing on African Caribbean achievement in secondary schools, on behalf of the Department for Education and Skills.
I also have a research interest in the sociology of the media and culture, and qualitative research methods.
