| Areas of expertise | My areas of expertise include RF, analogue and digital (programmable) electronics. My particular forte is in making prototypes/hardware to demonstrate that techniques work in the real world as well as simulation. I am currently employed on a short project to replace an existing controller with a more integrated version, built inside a reprogrammable chip (called an FPGA). This approach will create a high performance controller without the limitations of commercial-off-the-shelf devices that allow the user very little freedom. I share my time with the Centre for Communications Research, also in the department here at Bristol. |
