Areas of expertise |
I have a general interest in farm animal welfare and I'm also interested in harmful social behaviours, welfare assessment on farms and the effects of housing environment on welfare and behaviour.
I have worked on projects examining with laying hens (correlating welfare indicators with performance in preference tests) and sheep (the effects of transport on welfare and behaviour), however my primary interest is in pig welfare. My work on pigs includes a pre-weaning mortality study, my PhD on tail-biting and my current project on developing a new measure of welfare.
