Areas of expertise |
I am a senior lecturer in companion animal behaviour and welfare. I am certified as a Clinical Animal Behaviourist with the Association for the Study of Animal Behaviour (ASAB)and help owners with their pet's problem behaviour.
I did my PhD on separation-related behaviour in dogs, and so have a particularly in-depth understanding of the development and treatment of this disorder.
I have considerable expertise in all aspects of clinical behaviour, and have particular interests in developing the evidence base in clinical behaviour.
Particular research interests include; - The prevention and treatment of behaviour problems in re-homed dogs; - Methods for assessing the welfare of cats and dogs; - Behavioural signs of stress in cats and dogs; - The development of social behaviour in dogs; - Use of activity monitors to assess behaviour in dogs and cats; - The welfare of kennelled dogs.
