MAIN CONTACTS PERFORMANCES GALLERY DIARY WHERE TO JUGGLE IN BRISTOL LINKS

Performances

Many people contact us wanting some jugglers or other circus skills people for an event, and this page has evolved to try and answer the most common questions. Call it a badly written FAQ!

What can the circusoc people do?

The list is endless. So when your considering asking for some people, please have a think about what you want from us. Do you want some people to walk around doing magic tricks and/or juggling tricks in your venue, or do you want a bigger outdoor 10-15 mins performance involving fire (make sure your insurance covers this! :D)? We can also put you in contact with a few of our more professional members who can easily do much longer performances, obviously the cost does increase.

How much do we cost?

It depends on what you want, we are a student society so we are significantly cheaper than our more professional counterparts. However, in the litigeous world we live in all performers have to be insured (this costs quite a lot when you mention fire, and sharp objects!). So in generally the minimum we ask for is around £50-£200 per person, per performance to cover expenses and such. As with life, the more you pay, the better the act will be! Be aware that many acts cost significantly more due to the materials used (costumes, glow sticks, paraffin, etc) and the quality of the act. Juggling equipment is very expensive and combined with the cost of insurance (over £300 per annum), many performers actually can't afford to perform on the buget suggested by an organiser!
On the bright side all of our performers are amazingly skilled, and talented, and will certainly entertain and amaze your attendees. Have a look at our gallery section for some ideas of what our members are capable of. Also feel free to pop over to one of our sunday meetings to see what we are capable of. Please contact our Event co-ordinator for more details.

Why haven't you replied to my email?!?!?

In the past we would forward emails requesting help to our members and let them contact the event organiser themselves if they were interested. This didn't work very well, so we created the commitee position of Event co-ordinator to try and make this whole process less painful for all involved. If your emails go unanswered try contacting anyone on the committee, and we'll try our best to help.
