NAS Befriending (Liz O, Belinda S, Stefanie W – nasbefriending-sca@bris.ac.uk)

·     The National Autistic Society runs this project.  You will be helping autistic children through their isolation by spending time with them within their family home or on outings.  Weekly commitment of 3 hours for 1 academic year

·     3 hours per week, Bristol

 

Network (Louise Wong – network-sca@bris.ac.uk)

·     Meeting with adults with autism or Asperger’s syndrome in a local pub to chat and have a drink.  This helps otherwise isolated people to enjoy a safe social environment.  Also in association with the NAS

·     Sunday evenings, UBU

 

Pitstop (Sarah Hepworth, Kate Howell – pitstop-sca@bris.ac.uk) Group logo

·     Taking teenagers and young adults with learning difficulties on weekend or day trips, e.g. youth hostelling, educational visits, holiday camps.  Energy and enthusiasm essential!

·     Pitstop music sessionCouple of weekends per term, around the UK

Saturday Club (Lindsay Illingworth – saturday-sca@bris.ac.uk)

·     Group logoActivities with young adults with learning difficulties.  Past trips include bowling, the zoo, the Christmas pantomime at the Old Vic and Longleat Safari Park
