18th March - One World Day
This year saw great success at the annual One World Day for the Mexican Society. The One World Day is an event held in the Anson Rooms, where each cultural society has the chance to give a taste of its customs to students at the Union.

This year we had 'Chimichangas' at our stall for everyone to taste. These were a great success, and we were pleased that so many people enjoyed Mexican food.

Later on we put on various dances for everyone to see, including typical Mexican dances, Salsa and Tango. The appreciation of these dances was expressed in the form of the prize to the best dance, awarded to the MexSoc.

The other award - the best stall - was also won by our society, so all round, we had a very successful evening, and we hope everyone also enjoyed the whole show. Thanks to everyone who voted for us; this is the second year in a row that we have won!

13th February - Valentine's Latin Party at Fiesta Havana
After the success of the last party held in Fiesta Havana, we realise that you will be dying for another Mexican Society party. And so, we are organising this year's first MexSoc party just before Valentine's. So Come and celebrate St. Valentine's day with us! It will be an exceptional night of salsa and merengue dancing with our traditional friendly Latin atmosphere.
This time we have decided that, because of the success of previous parties, we will donate the majority of the profit to organisations for children in Latin America. This means that you now have a good reason to have a great night out: apart from having fun dancing to Latin beats and celebrating Valentine's (or not!), you will be helping street children and providing aid. Click on the More Info link to find out more about where this money will be going (site in Spanish).

Price:
• Non Members: £4.00
• Members: £3.00
