About ABACUS
What's ABACUS?
ABACUS stands for Association for British and Chinese University Students.
First established in 1994 in Cambridge, we are now an umbrella organisation
with branches in Imperial, Kings, UCL, and of course Bristol. The society represents the growing
number of Chinese people living in the UK today, whether you are studying,
working, or grown up here as a British Born Chinese (BBC).
What do we do?
Through various social gatherings, our aim is to provide the opportunity
for you to meet new and current students alike. We want to help embrace our
cultural diversity, whether that be going to dim sum, clubbing, or just a
drink at the local pub! In addition, we organize events with our sister organisations
in London and Cambridge, providing more opportunities to make new friends
and discover what these cities have to offer us.
How do I join?
It's so easy! Just email the president Phillip Tang (pt2155@bris.ac.uk),
and for just £3.50 you will be guaranteed a year of fun-filled entertainment
and social events!
