I have an interest in a variety of human health research topics, specifically occupational health problems and clinical trials. I am currently co-ordinating the local SCOOP study, which is a randomised controlled trial (RCT) investigating whether a community-based screening programme can help prevent fragility fractures in older women. I have previously co-ordinated the PITCH trial, an NHS funded RCT which investigated whether paracetamol, ibuprofen or a combination of the two was most effective for the relief of fever in children.
My previous work has investigated whether a long-term relationship between MRI-diagnosed lumbar spinal pathology and low back pain (LBP) existed. My PhD investigated the fine motor control of repetitive and rhythmic hand movements (handwriting and drawing) in healthy human and writer's cramp subjects.
