I like to work at the interface of Greek and Latin literature with modern literature, philosophy, and critical theory. I am especially interested in how studying the classics can shed light on contemporary concerns. Ancient authors on which I am working at present include Plato, Xenophon, Musonius Rufus, and Horace. I am also increasingly interested in Greek tragedy. Modern perspectives with which I like to think include psychoanalysis, existentialism, and pragmatism. In addition to writing papers on the authors listed above, I am currently revising for publication my doctoral dissertation, Cyrenaic Ethics: Theory, Contexts, and Lifestyles.
